Happy hump day everyone, I hope you are having a great week! When I worked a 9 to 5 job and pre pandemic I used to love when a long weekend came around & the short work week that followed. Unless it was during tax season because that just meant there was more work to do & not enough time to do it lol. Am I right?

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s post & the dress look I created for you as inspiration for the upcoming change of season. I am always thrilled when my friends at Lane Bryant ask me to create some outfits for you, especially since they expanded their size range up to a size 40, I love the inclusivity! So while this post is sponsored by Lane Bryant, all opinions are my own, as always.

For this second outfit I chose pieces that could be dressed up or down & that will easily mix and match with existing items in your wardrobe. That’s the great thing about separates, they definitely give you more bang for you buck.

I also wanted to play with mixing athleisure pieces with more traditional pieces to show how you can easily elevate your athleisure styles to work for the office and everyday life. Overall this look is comfortable but still looks chic & sophisticated.

One of the first categories that Lane Bryant expanded their size range in was LIVI. It was a welcome addition to options for those who wear size 30 and above in athleisure. The only thing I have to say I am disappointed in is that I am still not seeing a lot of the jackets available in the full size range.

So when I saw this cute structured jacket and it came in the full size range I was super excited to try it. And I have to say it has been one of my favourite purchases in awhile. I sized up to a 34/36 so that I could comfortably zip it up and wear layers underneath and I was glad I did. If you are not a pear shape I would say you could stick with your typical size.

I didn’t realize until I got my order in the mail that the jacket is actually made of a super soft textured knit. It’s a great fabric that makes it perfect for spring and fall. I also love the mix of black & white that gives it a soft grey colour overall.

This jacket is your perfect go to neutral piece that will work with just about anything you pair it with. The crisp collar, flat front pockets and drawstring hem are classic details that elevate it from just a basic athleisure piece.

These black pants are from Lane Bryant’s Knit Kit which is made up of pieces that are made for travel and mixing & matching. They don’t wrinkle, are very comfortable but are a step up from a legging.

I sized up to a 34/36 because I wasn’t sure how the fit would be but they are very stretchy and I could have gone with my typical 30/32. They have a coveted elastic waistband, front slat pockets and a tapered slim leg. There is also a cute ruching detail at the ankle.

The print of this blouse spoke to me right away with its ditsy style floral and the pretty shades of periwinkle, white and bright yellow. It just screams spring and summer. I can’t wait to style it with crisp white pieces for summer.

So I got a size 38/40 in this top because the 34/36 wasn’t available and I wasn’t sure if the 30/32 would be wide enough in the hips since there is no stretch in the fabric. I will say that this top fits very small in my opinion. I do think that there are improvements to be made in the fit of Lane Bryant’s larger sizes. But size expansion takes time to get right.

I love the v-neck line and the puff sleeve with the elastic cuff. The description says that it is a peplum but it definitely fits more straight and is not a traditional peplum which usually gives you lots of room in the hips.

I accessorized with classic white sneakers from Lane Bryant. I am obsessed with these shoes, they are a true wide fit and they have faux laces so they can easily slip on. Switch out the sneakers for a cute flat or wedge and you’re ready for the office.

I love Lane Bryant’s accessories so I chose a blue hoop earring, a fun multi coloured bracelet that has the colours of the blouse and a headband in the same print as the blouse but in the opposite colour way. And the bag is from my personal collection and the perfect pop of yellow.

I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any questions I would be happy to answer them. Lisa xoxo
