Happy Monday my amazing blogger fam, I hope you had a wonderful weekend and a fun & safe Halloween! Can you believe it’s already November?
To mark the start of a new month I thought it was time that I actually rocked some Fall fashion for you so I was thrilled when Lane Bryant asked me to style some of their latest dresses. This post is sponsored by Lane Bryant but all opinions are my own, as always, xoxo.
I hope you all know by now that A – dresses are my jam and B – Lane Bryant is one of my fave places to shop for them. This is even more so now that they expanded their size range up to a size 40.
I have definitely gained weight during this pandemic and due to the progression of my lipedema and while I try not to focus on it, it does have an impact on my ability to buy clothes. Because the reality is, once you are larger than a size 28, your shopping options are greatly diminished. So I will always champion brands that make a more inclusive plus size range like Lane Bryant.
And personally I think Lane Bryant has been killing it this year! They are still working on offering ALL their styles in their full size range but the drops keep getting better and better. The styles, the cuts, the colours and prints have been on trend with classics built in.
This first dress is from their latest Lane Edit – Tiger Queen. Lane Edits are collections that are available for a limited time with a focus on being fashion forward. They showcase the latest trends and are curated to bring the designer’s runway directly to you.
This edit focuses on tiger prints which are bold but also a great neutral ( yes animal prints are neutrals!) and curve hugging silhouettes and knits.
When I saw this army green & black print matte jersey midi dress I was immediately drawn to the unusual colour combo for an animal print. It’s fun to do traditional prints in a new way. I also love a good midi dress for Fall because I can still get away with not wearing tights on cooler days and through on a bootie. Did you know that a midi dress is designed to fall about 2 inches below your knee and 2 inches above your ankle?
I am absolutely in love with the fit of this dress. I love a faux wrap neckline and ruching details that enhance my shape. It also has a comfortable elastic waist. But probably my favourite thing about this dress is the fact that you can adjust the ruching to show as little or as much leg as you want. So if you are at the office during the day you can show less but then when you go out for dinner or drinks after work you can show that leg!
I am wearing the 30/32 and I am really happy with the fit. I am 5’6 and the length is exactly where I want it. So if you are on the petite side it may hit you more like a maxi but you could adjust the ruching to give you the illusion of more height.
I wanted to showcase this fabulous dress on its own so I simply added a black shoe and some glam hematite accessories that are all from Lane Bryant too. This would also look super cute with a black Moto jacket or blazer layered over top.
For my second dress I choose something with a bold stripe and a bold colour palette and I am in love! Stripes are a must have trend for Fall and that combined with these rich vibrant hues is definitely a look that will get you noticed. And I love seeing pink for Fall because it’s unexpected.
This dress is basically the same silhouette as the first one but with a shorter skirt that is a sheath. The description says it is a sheath and it looks more flared on the model but it is definitely a sheath if you are a pear shape like me. I am also wearing the 30/32 here and the fit is consistent for both dresses which is also something that is super important to me since I mostly shop online. And I want all of you to be confident in the sizes that you order too.
I wanted to create a more casual look with this dress so I layered it with this super soft and cozy pink cardigan. It’s a long length so it wears more like a duster and doesn’t cut you off creating one long sleek look. I also love the eyelash texture that just screams luxe and it’s also super lightweight so it doesn’t add extra bulk. If you want to define your waist more I would add a belt. I am also wearing the 30/32 in the sweater.
To accessorize this look I went for a neutral brown bootie with a low heel that is Lisa friendly lol. I love that they are a true wide width and have a side zipper to make getting them on easier. Some simple gold accessories also from Lane Bryant complete the look.
So tell me what do you think – are you team Tiger or team Stripe or better yet team Both? Leave me a comment below and tell me why!
