Happy Tuesday my amazing blogger fam! How is everyone doing? Can you believe it’s the last day of August? The month has totally flown by…

I know it’s been a hot minute since I did a post but I am back with another exciting update from my friends at Lane Bryant. This post is in partnership with Lane Bryant but all opinions are my own as always, xoxo.

2021 has been an interesting year for plus size fashion with some definite highs and unfortunately some not so great lows. As an extended size woman I have been disappointed a lot this year to be honest. But one of my favourite moments was when Lane Bryant announced they were extending their size range to offer sizes 10 to 40.

It’s been an honour for me to be able to work with Lane Bryant this year to highlight their new size range. Each month, more and more styles are available in the full size range and it’s so exciting to see.

I always check out the Lane Bryant website each week to see what new arrivals they have and I was very excited when I saw that their fan favourite Lena Dress was now available in the full size range.

You may recall that last year I gave you the complete scoop on the Lena dress here. But in case you didn’t know the dress is named after Lane Bryant’s founder and let me tell you I am obsessed! So while I can wear it in a size 28 I was happy to see that more babes would have the opportunity to try it.

The design and fit of this dress are so well thought out from the flutter sleeve to the high low hemline to the nipped in waist, great stretch fabric and pockets, they thought of everything. And something my Mom pointed out that she really loves is the armhole design, there’s an extra piece of fabric so you don’t have to worry about gaping or your bra showing.

The original Lena is made of a stretch crepe fabric but the version I am wearing here is made of a beautiful ponte that has great stretch but still gives you a structured and tailored fit. It’s important to keep things like fabric choices in mind when designing for larger bodies and Lane Bryant has done that.

This dress is available in black, purple and this amazing fuschia. Rich jewel tones and shades of purple and pink are must have trends for Fall so I decided to try the fuschia out. The colour is rich and vibrant and will compliment many skin tones. I did size up to a 30/32 because like many of you I have also gained some pandemic weight and you know what? That’s ok!

I wanted to play with a little colour and gold when I accessorized this look so I kept my shoe neutral with these black sandals and then added these earrings with a pop of orange that I then carried to my bag and a chunky gold bracelet. All of my accessories except my bag are from Lane Bryant too. I love how the orange is unexpected and brings a warmth to the look.

The Lena dress has many different style variations including different lengths, necklines and materials including knit jersey. But the other amazing style in my opinion that is offered is the jumpsuits!

When jumpsuits became a trend a while ago I was definitely team anti jumpsuit. From the practicality of wearing one (hello bathroom breaks anyone?) to finding one that would work for my body type, I honestly couldn’t be bothered lol.

But over the last year in particular I have become more open to wearing them and I see it as a great alternative to wearing a dress for special occasions. I mean no chafing shorts are required and I know for many if you there is something inherently more comfortable about wearing pants.

So with that in mind I decided to give the Lena jumpsuit a try when I saw it was available in extended sizes. I struggle with Lane Bryant size 28 bottoms fitting me so I never felt comfortable trying one of their jumpsuits before. I am wearing the size 30/32 for reference.

Well what can I say except that I am officially in love! The deep plum colour screams Fall and is an IT colour right now. It’s more moody than your traditional purple and definitely gives me rich Auntie vibes. It also comes in black. I love the crew neckline and 3/4 length sleeves. But I really love the wide legs. Not only do they work well for my lipedema and my shape but they give the jumpsuit a more elevated feel.

So I am 5’6 and there is a good chance that you might need to have the legs hemmed but it is tall girl friendly. And since I like to wear flats I am okay with this because then they work perfectly for me. And there are so many quick fix options available now for doing a quick hem yourself nowadays.

Those of you that know me know that I struggle with wearing heels so I decided to just wear a simple pair of black flats from Lane Bryant but I opted for a round toe. You can easily dress it up with a heel or strappy sandal too. To keep with the rich Auntie vibes I chose these fabulous metal and black accessories also from Lane Bryant. I haven’t worn a statement necklace like this in years but I thought it paired really well with the neckline of the jumpsuit. I just love how regal this look feels.

So tell me – which look would you try and why? Leave me a comment below.
