Happy Tuesday my awesome blogger fam, I hope everyone is staying safe and doing well. We have been in lockdown since Boxing Day and unfortunately it was just extended so we are at home trying to make the most of things and doing our part.
Today’s post is in partnership with my friends at Woman Within who are back with their regular scheduled programming for 2021! I love the opportunity to work with brands like Woman Within on a long term basis because I get to share my continued love for my favourite brands, share my insider knowledge and favourite picks. I can’t wait for you to see all the great things they have in store for us this year! But as always, all opinions expressed in this post are my own.
January is a month where I take some time to reflect on what’s in my wardrobe and see what’s missing. Now I am sure most of you will laugh at me thinking what could Lisa possibly be missing from her wardrobe lol but I tend to forget about basics and replacing my basics.
And for me basics also includes my intimates, especially my everyday pieces. So for the first time ever I finally decided to try out Woman Within‘s amazing selection of bras and panties. I am not sure why it has taken me this long but it won’t happen again because I am officially in love! Did you know that Woman Within offers bras in band sizes 30 to 58 and cup sizes A to N? Talk about an inclusive size range!
Their house brand is Comfort Choice but they also provide you with access to an amazing assortment of third party brands like Amoena, Amoureuse, Bali, Champion, Cartland, Dominque, Elila, Glamorise, Goddess, Leading Lady & Playtex. Elila, Goddess and Glamorise are some of my favourite brands for catering to those of us with large busts. For the purposes of this post I decided to focus on the Comfort Choice line because it’s new to me but I love the idea of being able to try different ones all in one place with a single order and one time shipping.
The Comfort Choice line is available in sizes 38 to 54 and A to G. I normally wear a 46H but 48G is one of my sister sizes so that is the size that I got in each of the styles I tried. They offer a wide variety of styles including wireless, posture, back smoothing, sports and underwire. What I really love is that they offer every band and cup combination in EVERY style. And in comparison to many other brands they don’t decrease the cup size options as the band starts to increase. It is very difficult to find bras when you are larger than a 44 band and a DDD cup.
If I had one complaint? I wish they had a greater variety of styles with underwire and ones that were a little sexier. A plunge, a balconette and a multi way strapless would be great additions to their offering.
But since we have been living in a pandemic for the last 10 months I have a whole new appreciation for wireless bras and I certainly don’t see giving them up anytime soon! And this is where Woman Within has you covered! I chose this front hook up style because let’s be honest when you have a large bust it’s easier to get on and I find the back tends to lay flatter. I really enjoyed that they have so many fun prints and colours to choose from, especially in larger sizes which often only get access to basic colours. I was impressed with the fit of this bra. I am able to wear it on the tightest hook and it was easy to do up despite all the hooks. I really love the stretch in the straps and the fact that they don’t dig in. Overall, it’s a great wireless option with a decent level of support. And they are only $25 and right now you can BOGO 50% off.
The next bra I tried was their unlined underwire style and unfortunately it was not as successful for me in terms of fit. Now I know that this would be a risk when I chose it because I have a hard time with getting a good fit on an underwire bra where the wire sits high in the middle on my breast plate. I don’t have a lot of length there and my cups are a full cup size different in size so often a long middle piece will never lay flat for me which was the case here. But if you don’t have this issue then I think you will love this bra. The fabric is soft and silky, it has the same comfy straps and I am absolutely obsessed with this print. It also provides good support and lift.
Finally I tried something I had never heard of before and that is this lace side wire style. I was so intrigued when I read the description that it was a must try. With this bra, you have full support underwire on the sides and bottom but it doesn’t go around the middle of each cup and meet at the top. To my surprise I absolutely love this bra!! It gives me the support I need, the cleavage I love and no uncomfortable middle wire. And it will easily work with lower cut tops. This is a pretty bra that is functional and comfortable which you can never go wrong with.
I also decided to try Woman Within‘s basic 100% cotton brief panties which I know are a cult favourite with many of you and now I certainly know why! They are offered in sizes 12 to 48 and come in packs of 5 or 10. Aren’t these prints and colours so cute? I loved being able to mix and match them with all the bras and the feeling of having a matching set. Pure cotton is a great option for breathability. I am wearing the size 15 which I chose based on my hip measurement but I should have sized down because they have great stretch.
Finally I chose a new robe because well I am at home all the time! I really love the practicality of this terry one with a zipper and short sleeves. If you are afraid this will be too long they also have a shorter version and it also comes in petites. I am wearing the 4x. And I can’t resist a good cardigan to cozy up in so I also grabbed this raspberry pink marled one and I love it. Three quarter sleeves are my jam! I am also wearing the 4x in this.
So there you have it, as you can see Woman Within has a great selection of intimates and layers that are the perfect upgrades to your wardrobe for a New Year and a refresh and reset on a budget. So tell me, which one is your fave?
