Hello blogger family, how the heck are you? Is your week off to a great start? Well I hope you are all doing well, staying safe and being awesome. Need a 🤗? I got you if you do!
I was supposed to have an IG live shopping event with Consign Your Curves tonight but I woke up with a sore throat and so we canceled just to be safe. I think it’s my allergies and a cold but I like to be cautious because we can always do it another day.
And on the upside it gave me time to write this post featuring On The Plus Side. This outfit was gifted to me by OTPS but all opinions are my own, as always. xoxo
You may recall that a few years ago I wrote articles for the On The Plus Side blog. I haven’t collaborated with them since then so I was so happy when they reached out to me earlier this year to say they were back. OTPS is an important brand for me because they carry size 18 to 48 with a focus on true plus size fits. Extended sizing is such an under served part of the plus size market so I feel it’s important to shine a light on those brands that go the extra mile to serve us like OTPS. And remember that amazing tie dye dress I shared on IG?
I can’t believe today is the first day of Fall guys, can you? I know that a lot of my fellow fashionistas are putting out full on Fall fabulous looks but I am sharing this look in particular because it is my current reality. The weather is definitely getting cooler but we are still experiencing warm days and I still get hot. So what I like to do is build layered looks that work with the changing temperatures throughout the day. And with the current pandemic and more time spent at home I think these are amazing basic pieces that you can wear over and over while being comfortable and cute. I mean I always want to keep looking cute lol, don’t you?
The next piece I wanted to try out from On The Plus Side was their tunic length t-shirts. I don’t know about you but I have a bit of a love hate relationship with t-shirts. Often I find they are too short, especially if I want to wear one with leggings, or the fabric pills, it’s see through or it’s way too big in the shoulders if it fits over my bootie. This a best seller for OTPS so of course I had to try it. It also comes in 3/4 sleeve and long sleeve and with different necklines. Let’s just say I now know why it is a best seller. The length at 38 inches is perfect for wearing with leggings. The shoulders weren’t too big and the fabric is soft but sturdy and washed so well. I definitely need this in a few different colours. I am also wearing a 4x in this, it is my typical size for On The Plus Side.
So while this tunic and leggings look great on their own I wanted to add a layering piece for those cooler evenings and to take the look to the next level. When I saw this Lace Crochet Duster, I immediately knew I had to have it. But the real excitement came when I opened up the package and saw all the amazing details.
The lace trim at the hemline and the crochet neckline are intricate and beautiful. The sleeves are actually sheer for a lightweight feel and airflow. And I love that you can roll them up with the tab to make them shorter. It has a high low hem with a great a-line sweep to it and the cotton is incredibly soft and there is two layers. You could wear this as a dress if you wanted, button it up and wear it on its own as a blouse or it would also make a great swim cover up. To me this is an investment piece that I know I will have in my closet for many seasons to come because of its quality craftsmanship and versatility.
I made this look super simple with these cute sneakers, a crochet shopping bag (can you believe these are back in style?) and a cute earring. So tell me, would you rock this look? What pieces are you looking to add to your wardrobe right now?
