Happy Saturday blogger fam, how was your day? I hope it was amazing! I just got home from a long day in the studio shooting the first round of looks for my upcoming holiday project. I changed things up this year so you better stayed tuned, I will be announcing it this week.
Well it’s time for another instalment in my collaboration with Woman Within and I have to say I am really excited about this one! So yes this post is sponsored but all opinions are my own, as always, xoxo.
I love creating outfits and I love when they come together better then I could have imagined. My creative juices have really been flowing lately and I can’t wait to finish the rest of the decade with a bang.
That was certainly the case with these two cold weather looks. With the temperatures taking a significant dip these past few weeks and the fact that we got our first major snowfall of the year I thought it was the perfect time to showcase one of my favourite things about Woman Within, their amazing collection of outerwear.
When you are a size 26 and up finding outerwear in your size is a big challenge and once you hit size 32 it is even worse. Woman Within has always been a go to for me because they offer one of the best selections and carry up to a size 44.
Whether you are on the hunt for a traditional long coat, a warm parka, a multi purpose jacket or something to hit the slopes in they have you covered.
And I love that they offer such a wide variety of colours and prints. It’s just not boring black or grey. I want the option of choosing a classic colour or having some fun with a bright colour or fun print.
So often I find that clothes that come in extended sizes particularly are boring, it’s like people think we want or need to hide ourselves and that’s just not true. We also deserve access to fashion that makes us feel good and look good regardless of our size.
And it’s so nice to have options! With Woman Within I don’t have just a couple of options to choose from, I have 80 that are available up to a size 32. Yep you read that right, 80! If you are a size 26/28 that number jumps to 128.
And let’s not forget that our outerwear wouldn’t be complete without cold weather footwear. I know I probably sound like a broken record but if you haven’t tried Comfortview boots you are missing out. And the selection has never been better than it is right now.
For this post I decided to feature a dressier outwear option, one that is good for everyday and going out and then a casual option that keeps up with a busy lifestyle.
This plaid A-line jacket immediately caught my attention because of the unexpected colour combination. It’s not too often you see a rich vibrant teal like this in a jacket. Since it is one of my favourite colours I knew it was a must have.
An A-line jacket is my favourite style because it works best for my body type. This one is a wool blend and is fully lined. It has front slash pockets, shoulder pads and a button tab detail at the sleeve. I am wearing the size 34 and was pleased with the fit.
If you know me I couldn’t resist pulling together a coordinating outfit. I mean why not? I loved the idea of this pleated velour crinkle dress with this coat because it pairs two current must have trends with the plaid and rich fabric. I chose the midi length but this dress also comes in a floor length version too. I am wearing the size 30/32 which was a perfect fit.
To pull everything together I got a matching scarf, hat and gloves also from Woman Within. They come in a variety of colours so that I could mix and match. The belt and clutch are both unexpected twists that reflect my personality. And of course you know these boots are Comfortview by Woman Within. Since I can’t wear a tall boot because of my lipedema I tried to create the illusion of one with this ankle bootie and tights. I have to say I was disappointed in the fit of this particular style of booties. I am wearing a size 9WW which is my normal size and I found the width to be very narrow. The ankle opening is also very tight.
For my casual look I chose this fleece lined anorak jacket as it is perfect for different types of weather which is great because the temperature where I live can fluctuate a lot during the winter months. It is made of Taslon nylon which is water resistant.
The great thing about this jacket is that the lining is removable so you can also wear it in the spring and the hood and adjustable waist help to keep the wind out. It comes in 11 different colours and is available up to a size 44. I am wearing the 34/36 and I was really disappointed with the fit. It is definitely too snug for my liking around my hips. Next time I would definitely size up.
I hadn’t tried Woman Within‘s leggings yet so I decided to give them a try as I know a lot of women that rave about them. While I opted for a basic black they have so many fun prints and colours to choose from. These are the cozy leggings which are made of a super soft fabric that is perfect for winter. I got the size 34/36 because sometimes I find leggings that aren’t made of stretch footing run small but I could have easily worn the size 30/32. I paired them with this A-line tunic sweater that I am obsessed with, it is warm and cozy and goes perfectly with leggings. I am wearing the size 30/32.
For this casual look I grabbed myself this fun printed isle scarf and glove set. I love the colour combination and the Sherpa lining makes it extra cozy. And an infinity scarf is perfect for getting bundled up. Now I have to say I am head over heels for these boots. I haven’t worn a pair of true winter boots like these in a long time and I have been missing out. I thought the white was a nice alternative to traditional black and the fur lining is on trend. They are super easy to get on as they also have a side zipper and the fit is generous. I definitely want them in other colours.
Well that brings this post to an end. What do you look for when you shop for outerwear? Which option is your favourite? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. I had so much fun playing in the snow here, I hope you enjoy these photos from the true Canadian North.
