Happy Monday blogger fam, how the heck are you? Can you believe it is the last day of September already? For those of you who have been keeping up with me over on the gram, you know it has been one hell of a month for me personally and I am hoping for better things in October.
And so on that note I am going to share my first post featuring some fall fashion inspiration and I have to say I am pretty excited with how these looks turned out.
Today’s post is in partnership with Catherines as I highlight some of the pieces from their “Easy Outfitting” collection. So while this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own and always will be.
This collection is all about making shopping easier while still being able to pull together a look that is on trend, looks fresh and is polished. It is made up of pieces that you pair together to make unforgettably comfortable outfits. Many of the pieces can also be mixed and matched to create multiple looks or to build a mini capsule wardrobe.
Since I was on vacation most of September and the weather was still very warm I really haven’t transitioned into a proper fall wardrobe for the office and it is definitely time. The weather is finally starting to feel more like fall and I can’t wait to wear these two new looks to the office. Lunch meeting anyone? I’m ready!
I am sure you won’t be surprised that I chose to feature dresses but in all seriousness I have to take advantage of the weather as long as I possibly can where I don’t have to wear nylons or tights. Because once it gets too cold my legs go into hibernation and the pants come out lol.
So as someone who is not a huge lover of fall fashion I am pretty excited to see all the rich opulent jewel tones that are the must have trend this fall along with animal print and metallic details. Catherines has done a great job of offering a variety of pieces that hit all of these marks while still staying true to their focus on a great fit and comfort.
As a lover of prints, I was immediately drawn to the bold intricate design in this faux wrap dress. This colourful paisley and animal print combined definitely makes a statement and says look at me, I am fabulous!
I love a faux wrap dress because it gives me the fit of a true wrap dress without the potential wardrobe malfunction they can sometimes provide. With my pear shape sometimes a true wrap doesn’t give me as much coverage as I would like. This one has 3/4 length sleeves which are my go to sleeve fo fall. They also have a split hem which I love because it adds interest but is also practical if you need a little extra room in the arm.
I love the surplice neckline and the fact that it stays shut so I don’t have to worry about wearing a cami underneath or showing too much cleavage. It has a slight high low hem that is perfect for adding some movement to the skirt and the material is so soft and stretchy. This is a dress that can keep up with me on my craziest days at the office. I am wearing the 4x or 30/32 which is my standard Catherines size.
I like to have the option of making my dresses feel a little more “business” so when I have an important meeting or presentation I can turn things up a notch. And you know adding a 3rd piece to any look instantly elevates any look. For this look I added this open style jacket in this gorgeous shade of beet red to achieve the look I was going for. It’s made of a stretch twill so it’s structured but not uncomfortable and I love the open front because it lays flat, gives you a nice clean line and works with all body types. The sleeves are 3/4 length so I could easily transition this to spring and the gold stud detail gives it a little edge. I am also wearing the size 4x in this.
For this second look I channeled all the pumpkin spice latte feels into this easy breezy knit duet dress that has the look of a tank dress underneath. This dress is honestly so damn comfortable, it’s like wearing pjs! The colour definitely looks more orange than saffron in person if you are comparing it to the pictures on the website.
I am wearing the 4x in this dress which is my typical size but I would be tempted to size up in this if I really wanted the loose fit you see on the model. The cut of the underneath piece is much straighter than I expected it to be so for my shape I would need more room for a true relaxed fit. I really like the simplicity of the scoop neckline and the elbow length sleeves. This would look really cute with tall boots when it gets colder.
Since this dress is more on the casual side, I decided to add some personality and print with this simple kimono with a bold leaf graphic. This is a one size fits all piece which does have a generous fit. I love the combination of the strong navy against the pumpkin colour, it’s a different contrast then you normally see. I love a kimono like this that you can throw on with so many things, it gives you more bang for your buck.
If you haven’t tried Catherines shoes yet then all I have to say is you are missing out! Both of these pairs of flats are also from Catherines and they are super comfortable and wide foot friendly. Their shoes are made with OrthoLite insoles which give you extra breathability to keep your feet cool and dry, plus long-lasting cushioning for airy comfort with every step. They are available in half sizes and up to a size 12. I wear an 8 1/2 wide.
You know no look of mine is complete without accessories and thankfully Catherines also has me covered in that department. Both of these bracelets and these hoop earrings are also from them. It takes the guessing game out of pulling a look together. I added two bags from my signature Coach collection to finish them off and they were the perfect pop of colour and texture for both looks.
So I miss you guys so much and I would love to hear from you. Leave me a comment and tell me which look is your favourite and why. Till next time, xoxo.
