Happy Tuesday blogger fam, how is your week going so far? Today my baby sister turns 38 and I have to say that makes me feel old lol. I can’t believe that she is getting close to 40 because with our 6 year age difference that means I am inching up into my mid 40’s. But I digress and you are only as young as you feel and I feel pretty darn good these days. So Happy Birthday Nancy!

Today’s post is going to be pretty short and sweet but I couldn’t resist taking a few minutes to write about this dress because let’s face it, it’s pretty darn amazing, don’t you think?

Neon and pastel colours are all the rage for spring and summer and they are certainly reminding me of my high school and university days, the 90’s were a very exciting decade for me. But since I missed out on experiencing all the trends back then because either they didn’t come in my size or I didn’t have the self confidence to rock them, it is nice to be able to rock them now with a modern twist.

This dress from ELOQUII is not for the faint of heart. To me it fully embodies the saying, “Why blend in when you were meant to stand out?”. Between the colour palette, the bold thick horizontal stripes and the giant bow at the back, it is definitely says that’s okay, go ahead and look! And let’s not forget the fact that it is strapless and a curve hugging bodycon silhouette!

But for me it was OMG I love it and I must have it. And that’s the great thing about finding self love – you don’t give a crap about what other people think. And honestly I felt amazing the moment I put this dress on and I definitely plan to wear it for one of the many events I have coming up this summer.

So here are the deets on the fit of this dress. It is made of ELOQUII’s signature scuba fabric which is perfect for highlighting all your curves and being supportive. I am wearing the size 28 and it is a little bit big in the chest but I definitely needed the room in the hips. It was nothing that a little tuck couldn’t fix. I am 5’6 so the dress hits me just above my ankle so if you are shorter you might want to keep that in mind. If you love the look but not the colour it also comes in a classic black and white stripe.

Since this dress is a statement all on its own, I stuck with gold accessories which include my favourite heels from Lane Bryant and some bangles and an oversized hoop. And I just so happened to have a yellow neon clutch in my accessory collection. I put my hair up to show off my collar bone and accentuate the neckline and of course that amazing bow.

Sometimes you find an outfit that makes you smile a little bit more than all the rest. And to me that is a must have purchase. A little splurge now and then doesn’t hurt I say. So tell me, would you dare to wear this dress? Why or why not?
