But since I don’t like to do anything small or easy I am happy to announce my next big project – starting today you are going to get 30 Days of Dresses! That’s right to motivate myself to get through the rest of tax season I have lined up 30 amazing dresses that I am going to share on Instagram every single day! There will also be some blog posts throughout the month to highlight different brands. So make sure you head over to my Instagram account here, I know you wouldn’t want to miss any of these looks.
Happy Saturday everyone, how was your week? Are you enjoying the weekend so far? My week was a bit of a roller coaster, I was sick on Tuesday and I had so much to do but I had to bite the bullet and stay in bed. The rest of the week was much better and thank goodness there is no rain or snow in the forecast for Sunday so I can finally get a photo shoot in. I took a break from the blog this week to regroup after the last couple of weeks which have been jam packed.
We are starting off the month with my partnership with Woman Within. When I decided to do a month of dresses including them was a natural choice because they have so many great options to choose from. This post is sponsored but all opinions are my own, as always.
Woman Within is probably most known for their classic crinkle dresses. Now I know I wasn’t a huge fan of them at first but they have been working on changing up the silhouettes and the colours and prints they offer to make the more current. So while I didn’t choose a crinkle piece for this post, stay tuned for more on this later.
Instead I decided to show you 2 different silhouettes that are classic and perfect for any girl’s wardrobe – the fit and flare and the shift. Don’t be afraid to try different shapes and styles of dresses because you think they won’t work for your body type. You always have to look at the whole picture, like the cut, the proportions and the the fabric. I have tried it all and despite my pear shape I can rock just about anything if it is designed correctly.
Woman Within’s selection of dresses is definitely more casual and perfect for every day life whether it be work, play, church, vacation etc. To me they are practical but with a twist. I also love that their sizing is so inclusive with most dresses being available up to a size 5x (40) or a size 34. Now I will say that their sizing does run small but they are working on it, lord knows I have given them plenty of feedback lol.
The other thing I really appreciate is their dresses tend to come in more fabric options, especially breathable ones. So while there is polyester in the mix you can also find linen, 100% cotton, soft jersey blends, t-shirt material, sweatshirt material and chiffon. Just keep in mind that you should read the product descriptions because not all of these fabrics will have stretch.
So do you want to hear more about why I chose these 2 dresses? Of course you do lol so let’s take a closer look.
I feel like a broken record but you know how much I love a fit and flare silhouette. It is my safe happy space and I know that when I put one on I will feel amazing and a great dress starts my day off on the right foot.
What I love about this particular dress is the colour, I can’t resist a vibrant turquoise and the leaf print which is a huge trend we are seeing for spring. It’s made of a soft jersey fabric that is perfect for warmer days and oh so comfy. I love how they reversed the colours of the print at the waistband and hem. And the solid piping details really provide that visual impact.
If you are on the more conservative side and like a slightly higher neckline, sleeves, longer hemlines etc than I think Woman Within is a great brand for you. I definitely appreciate that this dress has a v-neckline but it’s not too low so I don’t have to wear something underneath to make it office appropriate. And the midi length is perfect. And most of us love our pockets and this dress has them! I am wearing the 30/32 and I think I would actually size down in this dress.
The temperature has still definitely been on the cooler side so to make this dress work for right now I added this crisp white shrug with a pretty crochet detail on the sleeves. If you love shrugs then let me tell you Woman Within has got you covered! They have many different styles and colours to choose from. You could also wear a cardigan like the ones I featured in my last post. I am wearing a 30/32 in this one. I like the slightly over sized fit.
Now it’s time to talk about these shoes! I can’t tell you how many messages I receive asking me where I get my shoes. And no matter how many times I say it I think I need to get a bill board in Time Squares to remind everyone – I get them from Woman Within! I would say over 50% of my shoes are from their in house brand, Comfortview. Ladies their shoes are the real deal – regular, wide and extra wide widths; half sizes up to a 12; endless colours and patterns; and styles from thin strappy heels to comfy sneakers and everything in between. I absolutely love these white block heels. They are 2 1/2 inches but with the solid block heel they are very supportive and easy to walk in. And I love a slingback style with a peep toe, such a stylish shoe. I wear an 8 1/2 extra wide almost religiously except for sneakers where I get a size 9.
Now let’s talk about this second dress. I am not going to lie the shift dress can be a challenge for me but I like a challenge. So when I saw this one with its purple floral print and the fact that it had stretch I decided to give it a try. I got a size 30/32 because I knew I would need the extra room.
I really like the thoughtful placement of the print and the fun twist detail on the sleeves. The hemline is a little bit shorter than what I would normally wear but still works. And I chose not to wear shape wear this time. Overall I love that it gave me a sexier silhouette but was still playful and romantic.
These lilac bejeweled wedge sandals were the perfect wow factor to make this a great overall look. Don’t be afraid to choose a shoe with some colour over basic black. It’s an easy way to take your outfit to the next level. And for me it is the perfect reflection of my personal style. I finished it off with some beaded earrings and bracelet and my Kate Spade lilac bag. For the first look I pulled out my turquoise Coach satchel, a fun bracelet and some druzy stone earrings for a colour and texture pop. Silver metallic accessories will work too.
Well there you have it babes – 2 dresses, 2 silhouettes, 2 great looks with shoes all in one spot with Woman Within. I love one stop shopping. They are offering some making sales this weekend so be sure to check it out. Are you team fit and flare or team shift? Or both? Don’t forget to leave me a comment!
