Happy Monday my loyal blogger fam, I hope 2019 has been treating you good so far! I took a little time off from posting as I dealt with some personal and mental health issues over the holidays and between being sick and the weather being uncooperative I haven’t been out to shoot some new content this year. But I do have some awesome projects that I am in the process of getting up and running that I am pretty excited about for 2019.
Luckily I do have photos from some looks I shot this fall that didn’t make it to the blog because well you know sometimes you have the best laid plans and life throws you a curve ball or two and shit happens. One of the things I am trying to do in 2019 is not let this get to me like it normally would. I have really high expectations of myself and I put a lot of pressure on myself to achieve certain goals and sometimes I need to learn to be more realistic. Oh and a wise person told me I need to get an intern so that is also on the to do list. If you know of someone who is capable and interested please send them my way!
The great thing about the timing of this post is that this dress is in stock in all sizes and is on major clearance right now so if you love it like I do, now is the time to grab it. With the current warehouse sale, it is only $34.97 US, a 75% savings.
One thing I have been doing a lot is shopping the January clearance sales which is something I don’t typically do a lot of but some of them have been so good this year. I really noticed a difference compared to other years. And of course, ELOQUII has been killing it with the deals. My poor credit card is hoping it stops soon lol. But honestly I have been able to stock up on some great basics and some statement pieces for a steal. So stay tuned because I will have a lot more to share soon. I am going to also share some links to some pieces I think are great deals below.
This is another dress that I saw at the September preview I attended and even though Western isn’t my thing I was drawn to this particular piece.
It’s a gorgeous floral print in this rich vibrant shade of burgundy and plum. The fabric is very soft and delicate and and flowy and has a shimmer to it. Its very subtle but when the light catches it, it has a beautiful glow.
The soft ruffle detail at the neckline gives it a feminine touch as does the high low handkerchief hemline. The sleeves provide coverage but are shear so you can really appreciate the detail of the print.
The dress has a separate slip underneath that has adjustable straps and is made of cotton for a comfortable and practical fit. The slip is more form fitting so you do get to see more of your curves peak out from underneath the top layer which I really enjoyed. I am wearing the 26/28 in this dress which is my normal ELOQUII size. For a piece that comes in split sizes which can sometimes not work to my advantage I was happy with the fit and the length.
I have to be honest, I have been completely shocked that this dress didn’t sell out a long time ago. I think it is totally underrated and a hidden gem! It can be worn in multiple seasons and would look super cute with a denim jacket over it.
To keep with its western vibe, I added these silver western booties that are also from ELOQUII. These booties are super comfy with their low block heel and the stretch gore inset makes them accommodate a wider ankle like mine and helps you get them on. These are unfortunately sold out in the silver but they are still available in black. There is also a cute pair of snakeskin that I think would look great which I will leave a link for as well. For the rest of my accessories I wanted to play off the mint green that was in the dress so I added this satchel from JustFab. I love the shape and clean lines of this satchel which comes in a myriad of colours and prints. These bold statement earrings were a gift from my Mom. A silver statement bracelet from my accessory collection completed the look.
The setting for these pictures is a breathtaking little piece of the country north of my house in suburbia. We totally stumbled across this gorgeous side country road by accident and the scenery and houses and farms are so pretty and full of character and charm. The owner of this particular farm was kind enough to let us use his property and I really appreciated it.
I think for this particular dress you can’t judge it by how it looks on the website, you really need to see it in person to appreciate it’s beauty. So tell me, would you rock the Western trend? Are you a country girl at heart? I like to think I am a little bit country and little bit rock and roll.
Special thanks to Kate of Kate McG Photography for capturing this look.
