Happy hump day my loyal blogger fam, I hope you are having a fantastic week and surviving the heat. It’s definitely pretty humid here and I will be happy when it cools off a bit. I am definitely ready for a beach day soon. It’s time for the next instalment from my series, “Soul to Skin – An Exposé on Fat Love”. I can’t believe how fast the month has gone by but don’t worry I still have a few more looks up my sleeve to round things out.
For this post I am going to talk about how to find some traditional lingerie pieces that can be difficult to find in extended sizes. I didn’t have the time to do some proper research but corsets are something that women have worn for centuries. The desire to create an hourglass shape has been something that has always been highly sought after and is considered the “perfect” body shape. The lengths that women will go to get that shape can be over the top in my opinion and not to mention the pain one can endure! But I did want to try the look particularly since I had never been able to find one that fits.
This corset is from Yandy.com and I have actually had it for about 2 years. I met the team from Yandy at the first Curvy Con I attended and when we got to talking about the fact that I could never find one to fit me they offered to send me one. This is the first time I have ever posted lingerie on my channels so when I decided to do this project I knew that I had to include this piece. They have a great selection of corsets available up to a size 6x which is the size I am wearing. I couldn’t resist the purple sparkle lol! I like that this one has a size zipper which makes it easier to get into. I found the laces are quite strong and I was fully cinched in here. Now I have a large chest so some spillage is expected. It also has an additional privacy panel at back if you need to expand it. I think the quality for the price point is great. It’s not a high end corset with steel boning but it definitely does what it needs to do.
The other garment that I have found particularly challenging to find is a garter belt! Let me tell you these hips certainly provide a challenge! But thankfully when I went to visit Livi Rae Lingerie last August they know how to think out of the box and I finally got my first one. This particular style is off the rack and then Cynthia helped me out by adding an extender piece just like you would for a bra. Finally a solution that worked. It fit me in the hips and the waist. I then paired it with my favourite cheeky panties from Livi Rae for the final look. And I didn’t wear stockings on purpose, I like the look of the garter without for something different. A lace choker from SexyPlus Clothing and my fave heels completed this ultra sexy and sassy look.
Sometimes I think wearing lingerie is about letting yourself try on a different persona than you would in normal life. This wouldn’t be a go to look for me but it was definitely empowering to try. I definitely felt super sexy and in control in this look.
