Happy Friday blogger fam, it is officially the weekend and I am doing my happy dance! I am doing my first Facebook Live with Dia&Co on Saturday night at 7 pm eastern and I have a special photo shoot on Sunday. Make sure you tune in tomorrow night if you can! But to celebrate the end of the week and ensure you have some great reading materials this weekend, I have another instalment in my “Soul to Skin – An Exposé on Fat Love” series for you.
For today’s post I am honoured to have collaborated with indie lingerie brand, Impish Lee. Impish Lee is a size inclusive brand that offers sizes 0 to 30 as well as the option to have it made to your measurements. I first came across them on Instagram and fell in love with the beautiful aesthetic of their pieces. They were unique and different from what you typically see in plus size lingerie particularly. However I really took note when they collaborated with Corissa of Fat Girl Flow for their Spring 2018 collection. Corissa is also a size 26/28 and I thought it was a bold move to collaborate with a visibly plus size women on a lingerie collection because you just don’t see our bodies represented.
Inseparable duo, owners, and sisters Noelle Lee Ventresca and Kali Taylor Ventresca are the creative minds behind Impish Lee, Custom Intimate Apparel. They originally started on Etsy, and their company has evolved from a small handmade boutique lingerie line into a fully customizable intimate apparel brand.

Inspired by the comfort of Sunday lounging, Noelle and Kali design essential patterns with completely customizable elements, which gives their clientele the power to easily create unique, contemporary, and exquisitely comfortable undergarments.
I worked with Noelle to fully customize this set. Plus size lingerie is notorious for looking and feeling cheap. The quality for the most part is simply not there. There are so many brands that offer beautiful luxurious lingerie that cater to straight size women but nothing in plus size. I was tired of feeling left out, I wanted that feeling of wearing beautiful fabrics, pretty details and gorgeous colours and prints. I didn’t want black. It was amazing to be apart of the design process and bring my vision to life. I wanted soft pastel colours and this gorgeous shade of peach definitely fit the bill.
The fit on this bralette is amazing. I am typically not a huge fan of them because I like to feel supported and the ones I had tried before really hadn’t offered that. So I was so surprised at how supportive this was. I don’t know what their design secret is exactly but it definitely works. And they do take you through a pretty thorough measuring process. Trust me it’s not your typical band and cup process. The combination of the colour, the lace trim and the harness straps is the perfect mix of soft, playful and sexy.
Now let’s talk about these panties because honestly I am officially obsessed! They are the perfect high waist panty. The fit is incredible, the waist band doesn’t dig into you and neither do the leg openings. I would literally love a pair in every colour. The sheer mesh fabric is breathable and stretchy but feels soft to the touch. And I love that it gives you a peek but because it is a high waisted full coverage style it still gives a sense of mystery.
I will be completely transparent and say that their pieces are not cheap. This set costs $240 US. But for the quality, the attention to detail, the customization options that exist and the opportunity to actually own swoon worthy beautiful lingerie in your size is worth it. I fully understand if you are on a budget but overall I think plus size women discount themselves on investing in quality pieces for their wardrobe. We always live with the notion that we will loose weight or that we are not worth it. I am here to tell you that WE ARE WORTH IT! Our straight size sisters don’t have trouble spending money on designer brands so why should we? And if you bought a quality set you could wear over and over versus a few cheap sets that last only one or two wears I think you would end up ahead.
