Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have had a fantastic week! I don’t know about you but I am sure glad the weekend is here, I need to relax and recoup after all the craziness in NYC. For today’s post I am going to feature one of my favourite all time brands, SWAK Designs. I was a SWAK customer long before I became a blogger and when I first started blogging I really appreciated how supportive they were. Thanks guys!
So a few of you have been asking me about jumpsuits. They are one of the hottest trends for summer so of course you want to know! But let’s just say they are not my favourite style or trend. I love the look and idea of them but I honestly don’t find them practical to wear.
I think I have mentioned it before in a previous post, but I just can’t deal with the idea of having to basically get naked in order to go to the washroom while out in public. It’s just like why I ditched the once piece bathing suit years ago lol.
But when I received an email with this one in my inbox I was immediately intrigued. At first glance I thought it was a dress and that illusion definitely appealed to me. And once I checked it out in more detail on the website, I admit I threw my jumpsuit apprehensions out the window and went for it. Sometimes you just have to through caution to the wind!
I can honestly say that I am SO GLAD I did because it is fantastic! This beauty is the Donna and I am wearing the blue floral print. It also comes in classic black and a bright coral. I am wearing the 5x. The features of this jumpsuit really make it a statement piece but it is also super comfortable because it is made of a soft jersey fabric. And depending on what accessories you choose you can easily dress it up or now making it a versatile piece for your wardrobe.
The straps are bra friendly which is always a number one on my list. I do wish they were adjustable as sometimes things can be too long for me in the torso but this one fit ok. I love the sexy surplice neckline that shows some skin (you will want to wear a plunge bra) and the twisted knot at the waist is genius for camouflaging any tummy insecurities you might have while still drawing attention to your waist which for me is my smallest feature.
And then there is the genius side slits that give you the option to show a little leg or a lot depending on how you move. I love how it moves with you, especially when you walk and it feels like a maxi dress. I have to admit I felt pretty fantastic when I strutted out in front of Madison Square Gardens and the wind caught it, it made quite the statement. For someone who carries most of their weight in their thighs I felt much more comfortable showing it from the side then I would wearing something that was short. Not to mention that no shapewear or chafing shorts/products are required with this baby!
I decided to style this with a more casual fun vibe by adding some on trend accessories to make it pop. Flatforms are a huge trend right now and I love that they provide height but are stable and supportive to walk on. These ones are my current faves from Full Beauty.
Pom poms are also all the rage and I was instantly in love when I found these great statement earrings from Lane Bryant and this super cute bag from Aldo. I mean aren’t they just adorable?
So I finally found a jumpsuit I love, are you ready to take the plunge? Next on my list is the romper…
