Happy Friday my loyal blogger fam, I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! I can’t believe it’s the end of March already!
If you’ve been checking out my Instagram account this past week you will notice that I have been working on a collaboration with SexyPlus Clothing. I was thrilled when Stefanie asked me to help her choose her spring collection for the store from Canadian brand Artex. Of course I said yes!
What I love about SexyPlus is that Stef carries a variety of different brands at different price points so for a small boutique there is plenty of selection and something to suit everyone. And you are sure to find something unique that not everyone is wearing. I also appreciate that she supports local made in Canada brands such as Artex. To be honest I had never heard of them before I saw their pieces at SexyPlus.
Artex offers pieces that are made with high quality fabrics and classic design elements combined with playful prints and great details. Their sizing is also very generous. Their 3x generally fits like a 24/26 so I have found that I can wear the majority of their pieces.
As a blogger and business woman it was really interesting to go with Stefanie to meet with her to meet her brand rep and see what they had to offer for spring. I have to admit I was like a kid in a candy store lol. There was so much to choose from but I realized you had to really focus on what the average customer would like, what would work for most body types and price point. And then you throw in a couple fun pieces just because.
With that in mind, today’s post features the super practical yet stylish “Relay Dress”. The athleisure trend has been huge and let’s face it, it totally makes sense to offer pieces that are functional yet stylish as we all lead such busy fast paced lives these days. We need a wardrobe that can keep up with us.
I really like this dress because it is made of a great polyester rayon blend with a touch of spandex so it is super soft and has a great amount of stretch. But ultimately I think the design is pure genius. The short sleeves, the scoop neck, the extra panel on the front of the skirt, the ribbed detailing on the diagonal and the high low hem all work perfectly together. The heather grey colour gives it the athleisure vibe.
I am wearing the 3x or size 22/24 and you can see the fit is generous. I love how the front hits me just above the knee but that the back dips down to mid calf giving me more booty coverage. I also think it’s practical for doing everyday things like bending down to pick up the kids, grocery shopping etc. And while I would easily go sleeveless I thought the short sleeve was a nice option for those who like some arm coverage.
I imagined myself wearing this for a day full of running errands, lunching with friends or taking in the sites on vacation. So with that in mind I styled it with a low key casual feel. First off can we talk about these pom pom sneakers that I got from new LA based brand Xehar Curvy? Pom poms have been all the rage and when I saw this gold sparkly pair I was in heaven. And while they aren’t wide width they fit like a wide width. I highly recommend checking them out, they offer a great selection of on trend clothing and shoes at affordable prices.
To keep the colour palette neutral and metallic I then added this fun gold metal choker from the Choker Chick collection by Caterina Moda from SexyPlus. It’s a fun edgy piece that really popped against the grey. A simple set of gold bracelets from Lane Bryant and my Coach studded bag completed the look.
Stay tuned to the blog as I feature more pieces from my collection. And if you feel the need to make a purchase then please visit SexyPlus Clothing’s website. And for all my American and international friends, yes she ships internationally!
