Happy Friday peeps, I hope you have had a great week and are looking forward to a fantastic weekend!
For today’s post I am continuing to provide you with some casual options but this one is amped up with a little sass and sex appeal.
And I also wanted to show you how you can repurpose one of my fave new additions to my wardrobe – my fabulous faux fur coat.
I think that feeling put together and stylish doesn’t have to be complicated, its about choosing the right basics to build your “staple” wardrobe and adding in seasonal, fun, on trend pieces and accessories to create interest and provide you with alternatives.
A great legging is a perfect staple for any wardrobe. These ones are by Roaman’s and I love the fit and quality with a nice wide waist band and a heavier weight fabric so that they are more like a pant. What makes this pair special is the faux leather side panel.
Leather has been a huge trend this fall and winter so while you might not want to wear full leather pants this provides you with a little edge and something that you will be able to wear next year.
I am wearing the size 3x in these leggings. In my last post I tried a different style of Roaman’s leggings and I got the 5x. I have to say that I would probably order a 4x going forward. These fit me but I could have used a tiny bit more room in the rise.
To keep things casual but still great for a night out I then added this tunic from Ellos. I love a good pattern and I thought this one was really interesting and in the silver kept everything neutral but not all black.
I was really happy when I pulled this tunic out of the package. Ellos uses really great high quality fabrics so this is super soft and I know it will last.
I am wearing the 4x, and the fit is very generous but I sized up intentionally because I wanted it to be really loose and flowy. I love that this piece has short sleeves because it can be worn all year round.
And since the weather is still cold up here in the North, I decided to throw on my faux fur. That’s right girls – you can totally rock the fur with your casual looks. I loved how the chinchilla played against the silver in the shirt. I felt like a total bad ass rock star in this. And I was comfy and warm all at the same time.
And to accessorize my monochrome rock star inspired look I added these cute booties from Comfortview that have this great black and white textured print on them and a little but supportive heel. I am wearing the 8 1/2 extra wide. And these babies were a total steel at only $22.99!
Then I added a cute long pendant necklace that I had in my accessory arsenal and a mixed metal and leather bracelet, both from Lane Bryant. Of course my rock star look couldn’t be complete without a statement clutch so I added this studded lip one from Torrid.
So I totally feel like I need to go hang out somewhere hip and cool in this look or go to a concert. Anyone want to take me?
Special thanks to Robert of Robert Skuja Photography for these beautiful photos.
