Mustang Sally Two Does a Look Book For Brand Avenue

Well it is Monday peeps and I hope everyone has a great week ahead.

This week I am going to be highlighting Avenue, a brand that I first featured on the blog back in September. They recently gave me the opportunity to chose 3 different looks to share with my loyal readers.

When I chose these looks, I decided that I wanted to showcase the versatility of what this brand has to offer and the fact that you can shop for head to toe looks all in one place. And I love that they are one of the few brands that carries up to a size 30/32!

With this first look I wanted to experiment with a few things that I wouldn’t normally choose. The first is a neutral colour palette. I love colour and print and pattern and mixing them but there is something to be said for neutral colours and the classic feel they give any look. And neutral definitely doesn’t have to be boring.

I was drawn to this sweater dress because of the pattern and the fact that it was lightweight and had 3/4 length sleeves. Sweater dresses are a huge trend for Fall but I was worried that I would be hot in one and that a sheath silhouette wouldn’t be flattering.

It is part of the VIP Collection which consists of high quality knits. I appreciate that Avenue offers their customer a variety of items at varying price points so if you are looking for something affordable or perhaps you want something that is of a higher quality, its your choice.

So despite my initial reservations I have to say I loved this dress as soon as I put it on. It is in fact very lightweight but still warm and it skimmed over my curves nicely without being too form fitting. I am wearing the size 30/32 and it is true to size particularly for the shape.

This dress is very versatile because it can be worn to the office with a pair of tights and boots and even a jacket or cardigan over top but it can also be casual for a weekend outing or date with flats.

I chose to pair it with this beautiful Ruana Wrap in a marled brown to add some dimension and texture and of course a cozy layer. I absolutely love wraps and ponchos. They are such a versatile piece that can elevate any look. You can wear them belted or lose, casual or dressy, the possibilities really are endless.

In fact, I often keep one in my car just in case I need to throw a layer on if its cold. This is a one size fits all piece and I have to say I was impressed with the fit given that I am at the top end of the size range. I often find that one size fits all doesn’t necessarily work for me. So Avenue you get a 2 thumbs up from me on this!

The next thing that I tried that was outside of my comfort zone is the Shootie! I think you are all aware of my struggle with boots so since that wasn’t an option for me for this look I thought I would give this new trend a try.

The shootie is essentially a cross between a shoe and a bootie. This hybrid is actually a great idea because it provides the elongating effect of a heel but doesn’t cut you off at the ankle like a bootie can. And it has the stability of a bootie. I am wearing the 8.5 wide and like all my Avenue shoes it fits true to size. And I loved that I could wear them with or without tights comfortably.

To finish accessorizing this look I added this beautiful set of beaded bracelets in an array of beautiful fall jewel tones. They added the perfect pop of colour while still keeping a neutral palette and when the sun caught them, they glistened beautifully. A simple gold and rose gold earring completed my accessories.

Finally we must talk about this adorable wristlet which is also from Avenue. It comes in 5 different colours/patterns and is the perfect piece for life on the go. And it’s best kept secret? It has a built in portable charger for your smart phone! All for only $30 US. I chose the gold metallic floral one because it would go with any outfit.

So there you have it everyone, I crossed out of my comfort zone again and found an outfit I truly love and feel fabulous in. I love that Avenue carries extended sizes and provides us with options that are both trendy and practical and made with a plus size woman in mind.
