Happy Friday everyone! Who’s looking forward to the weekend? I know I sure am! Today we are going to talk about the Little Black Dress also known as the “LBD” and my spin on this classic piece.
It has always been said that you can never go wrong with black and that a LBD is a crucial staple for any woman’s wardrobe. So while I do not wear black often myself personally I do believe that this is a perfect piece to have in your wardrobe. Ultimately it is probably one of the most versatile pieces you can own. It can be dressed up or down and the look can be changed in an instant with accessories and even your hair style.
On a recent visit to SexyPlus Clothing, one of my favourite local boutiques, I came across this LBD, The Sweet & Sassy Off the Shoulder Dress. One of the challenges that a local boutique has is finding affordable pieces that are larger than a size 3x or even worse actually a junior plus and therefore not a true plus size fit. So whenever I can I like to try on pieces for my friend Stefanie to see if they would work on someone my size who is typically a 4x.
I am very happy to report that this dress is one of those affordable pieces with a generous fit. I am wearing the 3x and I loved how it skimmed my curves perfectly. Off the shoulder is a must have trend for Fall so this dress is a great way to keep your LBD looking current.
I added a statement earring and some bangles to glam it up. You could easily keep things casual with a gold hoop and bracelet. My heels are my oldie but goodies from a few years back from Penningtons but I have provided an alternative for you in the links below. If you are looking for heels and struggle to wear them, look for something that has a block heel with a platform as they will provide more support. I also find that a peep toe is less painful on the toes than ones that are closed in.
Finally for my signature pop of colour I added my new favourite clutch from Simply Be USA. I love the combination of pink and orange with the silver and white.
