Happy Friday everyone, its Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend so to all my Canadian peeps I hope you have a fantastic Turkey day and to my American peeps, Happy Columbus Day.
Today’s post features my final look from the new Fall collection by Christian Siriano for Lane Bryant.
The collection features a lot of cobalt blue and black and white along with some amazing prints. So with this I took the opportunity to combine these pieces into a sophisticated and chic girl boss office look.
This vest is one of those must have pieces for your fall and winter wardrobe. Not only is it in this fantastic shade of cobalt blue but it has the drama of this black fur collar. And the collar is detachable if you feel like not wearing it but it also extends the wear ability of this piece into the spring.
I really liked the zipper details, not only are they stylish but they are practical, you can unzip them to provide comfort for when you sit down. It with a belt to cinch you in at the waist or you can do like I did and tie it in the back.
I am wearing the size 26/28 and I am generally happy with the fit but felt it could be a little bit roomier. I think for the structure of the piece it would have been better to have it in the specific sizes as opposed to the split ones.
Next I choose this white and black lace circle skirt. I was really disappointed with the circle skirt in the spring collection in terms of the fit and I have to say I thought that this one was a vast improvement. I am wearing the size 28 and the fit is perfect.
As with all Christian’s pieces, the lace is of superb quality and absolutely beautiful up close. It has a black lining that is a full circle too and a black waist band with a zipper. I liked the length of the skirt falling just below the knee but also the fact that the lining is shorter allowing you to see just the lace at the hem.
To complete this look I chose this cropped black button up shirt with cape sleeves from Ashley Nell Tipton’s collection for Boutique+ for JC Penney. I liked the idea of simple black underneath but with the contrast of the dramatic sleeve.
Let me tell you this shirt is a pear shaped girl’s dream! Button up shirts are always a challenge for me because they if they fit in the shoulders they don’t fit in the hips and vice versa.
Making it in a cropped length was shear genius. And you don’t have to worry about getting all bulky at the waist if you want to tuck it in. I am wearing the 4x. Overall I have found the fit of Ashley’s line to be very generous.
So of course last but not least was how to accessorize this look. And the inspiration for this came from my new Coach bag in this rich shade of forest green and Coach’s traditional burnished leather that gives it extra depth and richness.
I like my clothes and accessories to be a reflection of my personality and I love adding charms or scarves to my bags. In this case I chose this beautiful butterfly one in a key motif of the Fall 2016 collection. Every butterfly is painstakingly die-cut and painted by hand with its own distinct colours and pattern.
From there I went into my supply of accessories and chose once again to wear my new go to black and gold earrings and leather bracelet from LB. And then I realized that I had this green and blue striped scarf from LB that was perfect for tying everything together.
So there you have it, my review of this collection is now complete. Overall I give it an A+. So tell me, which look is your favourite and why?
Thanks to Robert of Robert Skuja Photography for killing these, I especially love them!
