Happy Thursday everyone, I hope you are having an awesome week! I have come back from my vacation relaxed and renewed.
Today on the blog we are going to feature a brand you haven’t seen in awhile – eShakti. For those of you who have been with me since the beginning you know how much I love eShakti, particularly their dresses. And for those who haven’t read a post about them, you are in for a treat.
The challenge with blogging an eShakti dress is that the style I chose is often sold out by the time they make it, it gets shipped to me and I shoot it. But to my surprise when I was searching the site today for some alternatives for you guys I found that it was back in stock again!
Sometimes you will be lucky and find that they will restock certain styles but if you are lucky enough to get that chance you better jump on it. This is what actually happened to me with this dress.
I get trying to decide if I wanted it and before I knew it, it was sold out. So I totally got it when it was back in stock. What really attracted me to this dress was the bold print. The combination of the intense floral pattern with the turquoise blue and then the unexpected little pops of red, yellow and orange made it irresistible to me.
The shape of this dress has to be one of my favourite styles – a fit and flare midi. This is the Emma Dress.
There isn’t one thing I don’t love about this dress. eShakti really puts time and effort into the little details and designing pieces that are made to flatter a woman’s body, no matter what size.
From the shaping that is provided by the vertical seams that keep the tank bodice perfectly fitted to emphasize your waist with a full flared skirt to things like a back hidden zip with hook-and-eye closure, a princess seamed bodice and a box-pleated skirt, no stone is left unturned.
So while I love the look of a boat neck I find that they don’t particularly love me. Being as busty as I am I find I have a hard time getting them to lay flat and when they don’t, it drives me crazy! Ultimately I decided to change the neckline to my tried and true V-neck.
This is one of my absolute favourite things about eShakti – the customization options. And the thing is they keep making more options! For this dress alone, there is 11 neckline options, 7 sleeve types and 6 length options. Combine that with the option to customize the dress to your exact measurements and you can’t go wrong, particularly for the price point.
They have also recently begun offering different silhouette options on certain styles. You can make a fit and flare into a shift dress, a sheath into a fit and flare etc. For dresses that have this option, this is a little icon in the right hand corner that you click on and it will tell you what silhouette options are available. I think this is a fantastic idea because you may love a print or colour but the style may not work for your body type. And now you can have both.
To style this look I decided to play on the subtle pops of colour throughout the print. My shoes are from Zappos and I love the pop of turquoise against the white and wood block heel which adds stability for this girl who doesn’t do so well in heels, lol.
My necklace is an oldie but goodie that I got from Macy’s. I always make a point to invest in pieces in colours that I love that I know I will wear over and over again to maximize the value of my accessories. This piece is a perfect example because I have worn it on numerous occasions.
And what is an outfit without something a little unexpected? This kitschy clutch from Torrid is simply adorable and was a perfect play on the colours in the dress.
If you haven’t checked eShakti out, I highly recommend you do!
Thanks to Robert of Robert Skuja Photography for capturing the beauty in this look.
