Happy Thursday everyone, I hope you are having a great week – the weekend is almost here!
In my last post I mentioned that this week on the blog I was going to have two posts that show how I took an outfit that I selected from a brand that I didn’t like together and made it work by creating a separate look for each piece.
This look is Part 2 and features the beautiful Ave One Shoulder Cape Top from Loft2B. Loft2B is a new brand located in Los Angeles. They are size inclusive offering from a small to 3x and they just introduced a coordinating kids line with their latest collection.
This top and the skirt in my last post are from their first collection which is being restocked soon.
So it was a little outside the box for me to choose a one shoulder top as although it is certainly on trend, its not a style that I gravitate towards. I mean the fact that I have to wear a strapless bra is probably my number one deterrent. And they aren’t appropriate for my office environment.
But putting the practical aside I decided to give it a try and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Like the skirt it is made of heavy weight jersey fabric that falls nicely.
The one shoulder feels extremely feminine and the cape just adds to that. It really played to my love of all things girly.
I absolutely love the colour of this set, teal is one of my favourites and this is such a rich vibrant shade. I am wearing the size 3x and I thought the fit was generous.
Like the skirt, I felt like this top needed some volume to balance it out for my body type. I wanted the overall look to be very summery so I chose this white circle skirt from Lane Bryant.
This skirt is a perfect basic from their modernist collection that is made from the fantastic double stretch weave fabric. I am wearing the size 28 which is my standard Lane Bryant size.
With fall fashion already out, Lane Bryant has come out with this skirt in other colours. The circle skirt will definitely continue to be a must have silhouette for fall.
To pull this look together I went with a mix of multi coloured accessories. I did keep one thing neutral and that was my sandals from Avenue. If you haven’t figured it out, these are the same sandals that I wore in my last post but just in beige. I liked them so much I had to get both colours.
The earrings are from Francesca’s, the bracelets are from Avenue and the clutch is from Aldo. I love how all of them aren’t matchy matchy but go together and play on the vivid teal colour of the top.
So there you have it, 2 different looks from what was originally going to be one coordinated outfit. Which one is your favourite?
Thank you to Robert of Robert Skuja Photography for the beautiful photos!
