Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope you are having a great week!
For today’s post we are going to revive what I thought would be an archive because the piece sold out but good news – it is back in stock!
The piece I am referring to the is the “Chicest of Them All Vest” in Pink from Society+. I bought this vest a few months ago when Society+ introduced one of it’s collections designed by Creative Director and Co-Founder, Jessica Kane. I love when they come out with a collection designed by Jessica because I know that it will be size inclusive – 14 to 32.
This vest is not something I would normally gravitate to but I loved the modern look of it with the wide lapels and fun pastel colours. This shade of pink is absolutely to die for and will compliment many skin tones.
It is definitely a statement piece and can be worn a variety of different ways. I also think it will be a piece that can transition to fall, I am thinking some grey or charcoal or ivory would pair nicely with it. And I am so looking forward to wearing it as a dress like a few of my fellow bloggers have done already.
Having said this I would consider this an investment piece that is worth the price point of $90 US. And don’t forget, Society+ always has great sales so the chance that you can scoop it up for cheaper is very likely.
I ordered the size 30/32 in this. I made a conscious decision to size up because I wanted the option of wearing it as a dress and I knew I would need the room in the hips given that the cut is fairly straight. I was glad that I did. It is a bit big in the upper body when I wear it as a vest but thankfully the tie at the waist can be worn tighter to help alleviate this.
I have to admit I was also a little stumped on how I wanted to style this when it first arrived. I wanted to do something outside of the norm for me and I didn’t want to detract from the beautiful colour.
Of course when I get new pieces my mind always wanders to what pieces I already have in my closet and this beautiful beaded sheer tank from Torrid immediately came to mind. It was the perfect shade of pink to match the vest and the iridescent beads sparkled so nicely against the vest. I added a matching cami also from Torrid underneath.
To give the look more of a casual vibe I added my ex-boyfriend fit jeans also from Torrid. I cannot tell you how much I love these jeans! I had wanted a pair of boyfriend style jeans for over a year now but every time I tried them nothing worked because they just didn’t have that lose leg fit on me because of my thighs.
So when Torrid came out with the ex-boyfriend which is their most generous cut in the leg I gave them a try. Once piece of advice I would like to give is don’t give up on trying to find a version of a trend that works for you. It might take a few different styles or brands but eventually I find something that works for me and these were definitely a keeper!
I like a clean jean so I love the dark crisp wash on these jeans and the small rolled hem that give them a polished look. I can easily dress them up as I did here or throw on a t-shirt and go. I am wearing the size 28 and I was pleased with the fit.
To accessorize this look I decided to stick with silver accents. My necklace is from Stella and Dot. I love the versatility of this piece because it can be worn short like I have it here or long. I then added my simple but blingy sandals from Vionic Orthaheel. I absolutely love my Vionic Orthaheel sandals. As someone who struggles with foot problems they are a go to sandal for me. Finally I couldn’t resist adding something with a little whimsy and that is this cute clutch that I picked up at Nordstorm Rack.
Overall this look is fresh, fun, flirty, feminine and ready for anything. And that’s just what I like in an outfit!
If you like this vest you better go and get it fast, it sold out in a flash last time!
