Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope you are having a fantastic week!
In this latest post we are gearing up for spring with a fun colourful look for the office. I am also going to focus on a wonderful Etsy shop that I found through the Instagram feed of Thamarr of the blog Musings of a Curvy Lady.
Thamarr had posted a picture wearing an absolutely beautiful skirt and I was surprised to find out that it was custom made by Natallie, the owner of Great Skirts by Nate.
As I am always on the hunt for new and unique pieces and I am a sucker for things that are made custom to my size, I headed over to Natallie’s Etsy page and immediately fell in love with several of her skirts.
I love the fact that she proudly states that she makes skirts that are modest. I am no prude but you all know that I like to generally cover my knees and sometimes it can be hard to find skirts that do this and allow room for my booty.
Being the print lover that I am, I was drawn to so many great fabrics that she had chosen and had a hard time narrowing down my choices. I finally decided on this skirt with a gorgeous Monarch butterfly print in some of my favourite rich and vibrant primary colours. I also really liked the added detail of the attached half sash at the waist for a pop of yellow.
The ordering process is very easy. All I had to do was provide my height, waist measurement and how long I wanted the skirt. And let me tell you, you can’t beat the price of $55 CDN plus shipping. And it has a pocket!
Natallie does get a limited supply of each fabric so this beauty is sold out but there are many other beautiful options to choose from so be sure to check out her shop.
I decided to do a little print mixing with this look and thought this Textured Long Cardigan by JUNAROSE from SexyPlus Clothing would bring a professional polish to the playfulness of this skirt. I fell in love with the classic combination of dark navy and ivory in this tiny diamond pattern against the contrast of the bold black piping detail.
This is my first time trying Junarose and as always with a brand that only carries up to a size 24, I had my reservations. But the fact that this piece is open and made of a soft knit lends itself to a more generous fit.
Overall, I felt that the fit was great and worked for me. I am wearing the 3x. And the price point on this piece for the quality is amazing – it’s only $69 CDN at SexyPlus Clothing. Be sure to also check out the other great Junarose options that they have available.
For underneath I kept things simple with a classic scoop neck t-shirt from Lane Bryant. I am wearing the 26/28 and I actually found this t-shirt to be quite roomy. I would consider sizing down next time. This shade of yellow ended up being a match made in heaven.
To accessorize this look I pulled out this fabulous statement necklace from Torrid that played on the colours in the skirt and really gave the look a wow factor. Everything else I kept simple. I am totally obsessed with my metallic flats and now that sandal weather is upon us, I have also found some great metallic sandals.
Finally I grabbed one of the latest additions to my purse collection, this classic puddy colour shoulder bag by Coach. I couldn’t resist this when I saw the studs on it, as hardware is such a trend right now. And I got this bag for an absolute steal from an online web sale.
It was a pretty cold day when I shot this look but with the beautiful weather we have been having these past few days it made me so happy to write this post. Yeah! Spring is finally here!
Thanks to my gal Stef of the blog SassyPlus for the beautiful photos.
