Happy Thursday everyone!
Today we have a very special post highlighting the results of an amazing collaboration that I had the opportunity to be a part of recently.
It’s all about one of my favourite things – jewellery!!!! I think by now anyone who follows my blog knows how much I love accessories and in particularly jewellery. I also love to support local independent business owners whenever I can.
So when I had the chance to work with Chantell Kubin, the owner and designer of Amadora Designs Jewellery it was an automatic yes please! I have been a fan of her pieces since my fellow blogger boo Thera of Cloud 14+ bought some amazing gemstone statement rings from Chantell.
I also love the fact that Chantell is active in and very supportive of the plus community here in the GTA but more importantly strongly believes that EVERY woman has the right to feel beautiful and is beautiful in her own way.
The collaboration that we worked on is to celebrate the launch of Amadora’s brand new website and latest collection. A group of amazing women came together and made magic this day, a perfect reflection of Chantell’s mission and new campaign #madetosize. This campaign is all about the flexibility that her pieces offer her customer. Because she carefully handcrafts every piece with love she can make different lengths to suit all different types of women.
For example, being a plus size gal there is nothing worse than trying to find a necklace that is long enough or a bracelet that fits my ample wrist. And the funny part is, Chantell doesn’t measure her pieces. She simply makes a wide variety of lengths by adding a bead or two or a link here or changing the chain. I was so impressed when I showed up to this photo shoot because not only were all of the pieces simply stunning but practically every piece fit me!
Being an accountant and working with entrepreneurs throughout the course of my career, one thing that always interests me is how they come up with the name for their business. When I asked Chantell, she simply stated “Amadora means the gift of love and that is why i use the #madewithlove hash tag”.
She specializes in using high end gemstones in her pieces and strongly believes in producing a top quality product. Her esthetic is very boho and I would personally add a side of chic to that. She also loves to repurpose old pieces and create something new. This labour of love started back in 2009 as a hobby and slowly grew into the business it is today. For handmade gemstone focused pieces, I find that her average price point of $30 to $50 Canadian depending on the type of materials is very affordable and well worth it.
I had the opportunity to style my own looks for this shoot and I had so much fun choosing these two amazing looks – one with all things purple and one with coral, a hot colour for spring. I found the pieces to be very versatile and perfect for layering and mixing and matching. And of course there are some that would make a statement all on their own. I like the idea that you could build your collection of Amadora pieces over time.
I want to personally thank Chantell for this opportunity to showcase her beautiful work and for being the funny, genuine, kind, smart, successful beautiful babe that she is. It is a pleasure to know you and to find someone else that firmly believes in one of my favourite mantras – “Women Supporting Women”.
Be sure to check out the amazing new collection here.
To the other fabulous women who were a part of this project – it was such a joy and privilege!
Special thanks to Robert of Robert Skuja Photography for these amazing photos.
