Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying the spring like weather, I know I certainly have!
Today’s post marks a major announcement for me – I am honoured and thrilled to announce that I am now a City Chic Ambassador.
I discovered this brand about a year and a half ago and I can’t wait to share with you some more great looks from this fabulous brand. Stay tuned!
The focus of this look is the Sheer Tribal Tunic. It is a fun and versatile piece that I have to admit wouldn’t necessarily be something I would gravitate to immediately when first seeing it as it wasn’t my typical colour palette. However, I eventually came around and shall we say saw the light.
I will be upfront and say that City Chic only carries up to a size 24 but I have found that the cut of their clothes is fairly generous and if I pick the right styles then there are many things that fit me.
I was nervous about the fit on this piece because it is more of a straight cut but I was pleasantly surprised. I am wearing the 24 and I felt that the fit was generous. One of the things I love about my City Chic pieces is that they use great fabrics and really pay attention to the quality.
This tunic is made of a poly/elastane blend and has just the right amount of stretch. For every garment on their website, you can click to see what fabric it is made of and they even have a fabric guide that tells you about the different kinds of fabric they use and how they should fit us curvy gals!
Those who know me probably are not surprised that I also love the details on this piece – the mesh insert at the neckline with the fringe trim, the dolman sleeve and the tie at the waist that allows you to create that hour glass shape.
This piece is perfect to wear on its own if you want to show a little leg or you can be more casual like I chose to and wear it with a pair of leggings. Tights would also work great. These various options make this a great transition piece from winter to spring.
When I opened up the package, I immediately knew that I was going to pair this piece with some amazing accessories. First up is this gorgeous Celine micro luggage satchel in this amazing black, white and green combination. Ladies, this bag was a gift from someone special and it is my first Celine bag so I am still learning about this luxury brand. I just loved the way this bag popped against this tunic.
The rest of my accessories I kept to shades of beige and rose gold. I am wearing my go to flats from Lane Bryant and my sunglasses are also from LB. I chose to wear a statement earring to compliment the neckline and these are from Aldo as are the coordinating bracelets.
Overall, this is a great weekend look perfect for running errands, going for brunch or hanging with friends. It is the perfect combination of comfort, style and sophistication.
So to all my size 26 and 28 ladies, don’t be afraid to give City Chic a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. And you never know until you try it on!
I’m ready to go shopping, who wants to join me?
Thanks to Stef of the blog Sassy Plus for capturing this look.
