Hi everyone, Happy Wednesday, hope you have an amazing day!
Today we are going to take a look at what I like to wear on the weekend when running errands.
A few years ago I would have never imagined myself wearing leggings as I was always so self conscious about my thighs and how much weight I carry in the lower half of my body. But through my journey to where I am today I took baby steps.
First it was plain black, good thickness with a dress or LONG shirt to make sure there was enough coverage. Then I got more comfortable with shorter versions of tunics or high low tops. And now I am experimenting with colour and pattern.
If there is a particular piece of clothing, style or trend that scares you ladies, it’s okay to dip your toes in the water and test out the temperature. You might find it cold at first, but the longer you stay the greater the likelihood that it will become comfortable. And I always say, with no risk there is no reward.
So now a days, leggings are a go to staple for me on a weekend. They are comfortable, easy and the styling options are endless. And the selection that is available is amazing. There are so many different colours, patterns and prints that it is the perfect opportunity to express your personality and individuality.
This pair is from Point Zero Curvy. I admit I was a little nervous to try these as they had the lace print on the side but once I put them on, I loved how they looked and like colour blocking, I do find them slimming on my leg. The quality of the fabric is great and I like that they have a wide waist band for support without being too constricting. Now everyone knows that I am a size 28 bottom but I am happy to report that the fit on these is very generous. I am wearing the 3x.
I love all things purple so when I saw this tunic top, also by Point Zero Curvy I was in love. It’s a great basic piece with 3/4 sleeves, a cute print with a splash of colour and a surprisingly flattering hanky hem. I have to admit, I haven’t always been sold on this particular type of hemline but this one has just the right amount of volume for me. And the leatherette detail on the neckline adds a little edge.
This shirt is shorter than what I would normally wear with leggings but I am continuing to let go of any little insecurities that I may have lingering. Self love and acceptance doesn’t mean that these things go away entirely but your outlook and perspectives certainly do change.
To keep things light on a beautiful sunny day, I threw my go to Point Zero Curvy poncho over the top. This poncho has to be one of my top purchases from the fall. I wear it over and over again as it easily adds polish to any casual look.
Finally I decided to throw on a grey floppy hat for some off duty fun. This one is from Lane Bryant. I loved the casual boho vibe it added to my look along with my side braid.
So you may be wondering why I am wearing flip flops in these pictures! Well this wasn’t a planned photo shoot and official blog post so I had actually just finished getting my pedicure done. The lovely Lisa who makes my feet beautiful is always so nice when I see her and willing to take my #ootd picture.
And then I had snapped some selfies while I was sitting in the pedicure chair. When I got home and realized she had taken quite a few photos and they and the lighting were awesome, I decided I needed to make this an official post. We are talking live blogger action lol!
So what is your go to style for running errands? Remember ladies, you can still be comfy and chic.
