Happy Thursday everyone and Happy Thanksgiving to all my American followers!
I hope everyone is prepared for what is turning out to be a fabulous Black Friday shopping extravaganza. I myself have already started! It’s amazing how good the deals are and how both big retailers and independent small businesses have joined the party.
This instalment of my Lane Bryant haul features this chic dress that is sure to become a staple in my work wardrobe.
Not too long ago, Lane Bryant introduced “Fast X Lane”. The concept is that they are curated capsule collections that provide the next level of trendy fashions in limited quantities for a limited time. The capsules are centered around a particular theme.
I was intrigued when they introduced this concept because I have been a huge fan of the 6th & Lane line as well as the designer collaborations with Isabel Toledo, Sophie Theallet and Lela Rose.
Overall, I have had mixed feelings on the capsules they have released to date. But I think that is okay because they are so specific to one theme/style. So if that theme/style doesn’t suit your personal sense of style, it’s understandable that you may not love the pieces. What I do love is that Lane Bryant is continuing to introduce new concepts and collaborations.
This dress came from their Cobalt capsule and I love this colour and I pretty much loved all the pieces in this collection. Colbalt is a must have colour for fall and has also been showing pretty heavily in holiday collections. I like it because it is a versatile colour and looks good on most people. I can easily wear this dress all year long.
I chose to photograph it as is but you could easily add a shrug, cardi, blazer or leather jacket for the colder months.
I really appreciate the details in this dress. A V neckline is my favourite and the bodice has criss cross seams that add visual interest along with the pleats at the waist and the asymmetrical hem.
I am wearing the size 28 and I found the fit to be true to size. I would caution that if your chest is larger than mine you might find the bust too small.
To accessorize the dress I chose a statement necklace from my one of my favourite jewellery shops Pinch Gear that has gold and shades of blue. I love how it pops against the colour of the dress.
I then added a thick gold link bracelet from Avenue, my go to LB gold flats and my black and white Kate Spade bag.
I like dresses because they flatter my shape, for me they usually tend to be more comfortable and they are so easy that I don’t have to think too much. I am not a morning person so the less thought that I have to put into what I am wearing each morning the better!
So my loyal followers, this is just not another alternative for a day at the office but it is also perfect for date night, drinks with the girls after work or church on Sunday.
And the best part? Right now it is on sale for $34.99 and also comes in red and black.
Are you excited to see what tomorrow’s look is? I hope you’ll be back to check it out…
