Today’s post highlights a new brand I have been exploring, Eloquii.
I learned of Eloquii through several different bloggers that I follow and when I checked out their website, I immediately fell in love with their clothes. They were unique, had fun prints, made of good quality fabrics and are perfect pieces for the office and my professional life. Unfortunately at the time, I was disappointed because they only carried up to a size 24.
Then a few months later they announced that they would be offering extended sizes and debuted the fabulous look books showcasing first the lovely Sarah Conley of “StyleItOnline.com” and then “Styled By Reah’s” Reah Norman. It was completely fabulous to see a brand showcase their styles on women that wear these sizes! This gets a huge two thumbs up from this size 28 advocate!!! And I just found out that there is a new look book out now!
Although there were limited pieces offered in size 26 and 28 I decided to take the opportunity and see how their sizing works so I ordered several skirts, two in a size 24, and one each in a size 26 and 28 and some tops in a 24. Overall, the results were pretty good. The size 24 skirt that was more of a circle skirt fit great, the more fitted A-line size 24 was a little too small, the size 26 fit great and the size 28 was a little big. And all of the size 24 tops fit great. So once again, this proves the importance of trying things on and taking a chance. I absolutely love the size 24 skirt and if I hadn’t been willing to give it a chance, I would have missed out! And it was only $25!
Eloquii does ship to Canada at reasonable rates so this is a great alternative for my Canadian shoppers. I had to laugh when I saw the return label and saw the address was right down the street from me! Talk about a small world.
I decided for this outfit that I wanted to test out a more fitted look. I immediately fell in love with the print and the colour palette of this pencil skirt. It was perfect for fall and the way the print is designed, it is very flattering on the body. I also like that the skirt is made of a scuba fabric that has some stretch in it, great for a pencil skirt and all day comfort. And the waist band is elastic which helps a pear shaped girl like myself avoid the dreaded waist gap.
I also really appreciated the length, I’m 5’6 and it hits me right at the knee. I’m not a huge fan of wearing something shorter than that, particularly for the office so I felt comfortable, particularly when sitting down. I am wearing a size 28 and the fit is perfect.
I paired the skirt with this periwinkle blue empire flare top with ¾ sleeves. I was originally going to choose something in royal blue or marsala but then I saw the model on the website wearing this combination and I loved it. This shirt is a perfect for the office. I like a ¾ sleeve because I am always hot, the neckline is unique with the cut out but not too revealing. And the shape is very flattering.
It has just the right amount of flare to balance out the pencil skirt but still provide a great fit. The empire seam is great for drawing attention to the smallest part of me. And the ponte fabric is a good weight with the right amount of stretch, like the skirt. Sometimes I can struggle with shirts fitting my upper arm and I do not have this issue with this shirt. I am also wearing a size 28 in this top.
To pull this look together, I kept things simple. I happened to have this necklace in my collection from Lane Bryant that pulled all the colours in the outfit together perfectly. I don’t often wear earrings but I decided to wear a small pair of royal blue ones.
I then added my go to Coach marsala satchel and black suede peep toe pumps from Penningtons.
A great thing about Eloquii is that they always have fantastic sales and promotions going on. So ladies, I highly recommend signing up for email alerts so that you don’t miss out! Because I will tell you things sell out quickly!
My one wish? That ALL styles are available in a size 26 and 28. They continue to expand the number of items available in these sizes but there is always a couple of pieces that I see that I want that still only come up to a size 24.
Overall this is a polished put together professional look. I’m ready for that all important meeting or presentation so watch out, here I come!
Thank you to my gal Thera for the photos.
