Hi everyone! Happy Monday and I hope you all have a great week!
It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the end of September and as we have headed into fall all of the new fabulous fall fashion is out in full force with a rich palette of colour and textures. However, the temperature has still been extremely hot and humid in my neck of the woods so I have been hanging onto my summer wardrobe and still rocking it while I can.
This post is my last hoorah for summer dresses, my absolute favourite thing to wear! This beauty is from Lane Bryant in the most stunning fully saturated shade of fuchsia.
I saw this dress online and I was immediately drawn to the colour but I have to say I was not super excited about the neckline. Now, it is honestly an amazing and unique neckline which is nice to see but I knew I wasn’t going to be able to wear a normal bra, even a racer back and that is typically an automatic turn off for me.
But being the lover of colour that I am, I couldn’t pass it up and decided I would wear my trusty Lane Bryant strapless bra with it. Look at me throwing my normal tendencies out the window…with no risk, there is no reward after all.
When I picked this dress up in store with one of my usual orders, I was surprised at how much I loved it when I tried it on. Even my shopping partner in crime Karen was amazed when I came out of the dressing room to show her. It was not my normal style but we both loved it. The material is a great textured knit that is perfectly lightweight but heavy enough to cover any lumps and bumps. I love the length as it just covers my knee and it has a great seam that hits me perfect under the bust. I am wearing the size 26/28 which is my typical LB size.
When I purchase items, I typically take stock in my head of what accessories I have that I think will go with something and I immediately envisioned this amazing floral statement piece I had from Your Big Sister’s Closet. I felt the strong colours and the pop of orange would go perfect.
One thing I have realized through my blogging experience is that I am truly inspired by others and that taking risks and putting aside preconceived notions has allowed me to grow so much personally and in my fashion choices. The old Lisa would have automatically said you shouldn’t wear a necklace with this dress because of the neckline.
But I have learned that the right piece can bring attention to and not deter from a great feature on a piece. I love this necklace because it is totally a representation of me. YSBC has a great selection of accessories that are totally affordable. I would totally recommend you check them out.
To complete the look I added my new rose gold flats from Lane Bryant (I have a feeling you are going to be seeing these shoes a lot this fall!) and my most recent purse acquisition, this rich cobalt blue bag by Botkier.
I am a Coach girl through and through but on my recent staycation in downtown Toronto a couple of awesome friends introduced me to the world of purses available at the Bay’s flagship store.
I was in heaven and when we came across this beauty on sale it was too good of a deal to pass up. The leather is simply gorgeous and has the most amazing texture. Cobalt is on trend this fall so it was a win win for my collection. I love the contrast of it against the colour of the dress and it ties into the necklace.
Overall, this look makes my happy and I can’t ask for more than that. I think it may be cruise bound…
This dress also comes in black and a black and white print and is on sale now! Click the link below to check it out.
